From Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) to Le Puy-en-Velay

From CDG Airport you take a TGV train directly to Lyon Part-Dieu train station. You then transfer to a regional train to St Etienne where you catch a third and last regional train to Le Puy en Velay.
Sounds complicated? It really isn’t!
The connection at St Etienne is very easy: you literally hop off the train , cross the platform where your train to Le Puy will be waiting for you (or arriving very soon).
From Paris city
to Le Puy-en-Velay, you have 2 options.
1. You take the train in Paris from Gare de Lyon train station and go directly to St Etienne. From there you catch a regional train to Le Puy en Velay.

2. You take the train in Paris from Gare de Lyon train station and go to Lyon Part-Dieu. From there you catch a regional train to Saint-Etienne and a second regional train from Saint-Etienne to Le Puy en Velay.

Why choose this second option when the first one is “more direct”?
There are a LOT more trains going from Paris to Lyon than directs to Saint-Etienne.
Landing in Lyon (LYS) ?
Take the “Rhône Express shuttle” !
It takes 30 min to go from the airport to Lyon Part-Dieu train station. From there you’ll take a regional train to Saint-Etienne and then another regional train from Saint-Etienne to Le Puy-en-Velay.
